Revolutionary events usually have something in common. They emerge simultaneously but usually in different areas.Juergen Bechler (inventor of Carvinggolf clubs) in collaboration with Thomas Thöni (PGA professional and business director) and the Dept. of Sports Science of the Technical University of Munich, developed a new golf swing technique on the basis of pendulum dynamics, using less coordinative energy with the goal of simplifying the Carvinggolf technique for the amateur player.

Not knowing of each others work nor the research being done in Munich, two Americans, Andy Plummer and Mike Bennett were also devoted to the subject of achieving greater reliability, confidence and effectivity of the golf swing while using less coordinative movement. The U.S. golf journal, „Golf Digest“, has, in it’s latest edition, commented on this new golf swing being used on the tour. It is called STACK & TILT SWING.

Thomas Thöni, head instructor of the Carvinggolf School recognized the revolutionary scope of both developments. He recognizes a symbiotic effect between STACK & TILT and the pendulum motion swing of the Carvinggolf technique, the ideal professional swing movement for amateur players. This technique is called STACK & GO. STACK stands for stability and GO for „let it happen“.

STACK & GO combined with Carvinggolf clubs gives amateur players a higher playing precision which means greater hitting distance during the course of the game.

STACK & GO BASICS

ADDRESS:
LIKE CARVINGGOLF AND STACK & TILT

• Stabilize the shoulders over the hips
• Put the weight somewhat more on the front leg (55/45)

TAKEAWAY: LIKE CARVINGGOLF AND STACK & TILT

• During the takeaway, relieve the pressure on the rear (right) leg through a
lateral impulse comming from the hip in the direction of the stroke.
• This impulse starts the backswing, the head remains still.
• The front leg is bent, the right leg stretched.
• Hereby the hip is tilted, the shoulder opens and thereby prepares the body
for the arm-club-pendulum movement of the backswing.

DOWNSWING: LIKE STACK & GO

• The arms fall without effort into the downswing. The head remains still.
• (Shoulder impulse to accelerate the pendulum motion is possible).
• Relieve the left leg at the start of the followthrough through a lateral impulse
out of the hip in the opposite direction.

FOLLOWTHROUGH: LIKE CARVINGGOLF

• The right leg is bent, the front leg is stretching.
• Hereby the hip axis tilts in the opposite direction, opens the shoulder in a
  forward direction and ...
• Prepares the arm-club-pendulum for the followthrough.
• Release long after point of impact.
• Tilted steep shoulder (steep shoulder axis) during release.

FINISH: LIKE CARVINGGOLF AND STACK & TILT

• After the release the dynamics of the swing straighten the body.
• Stretches and relieves the spine and turns the player into the finish.

KEYS FOR USING

Motion Key 1
FOR THE TAKEAWAY

The hip impulse in playing direction starts the takeaway and releaves the right leg, hereby the body reaches a stable position in relation to the ball. Simultaneously, when releaving the right leg, the front leg tilts the hip axis, the shoulder opens automatically and prepares the body for the pendulum of the backswing.

Motion Key 2 FOR THE DOWNSWING

The hip impulse in the opposite direction starts the downswing and relieves the front leg. Still in front , the hip impulse starts the effortless downswing of the arms, the front leg stretched, the right leg bent, the hip axis tilted. The shoulder opens in playing direction and prepares the body for the pendulum motion of the follow through.
